Kagawa bid accepted, RvP talks, The Ox for England and Jack on Nasri.

The extensive finger buffet was one of a few tactics employed by Wenger and Gazidis to win Robin over.

Morning folks.

Yesterday, was the day the teddy bears had their picnic… No, it wasn’t. Yesterday was the day it was alleged Robin’s meeting with Wenger and Gazidis took place.  Today, there is little information about the subjects discussed, and anything that has surfaced is either wildly sketchy, or irritatingly false and obviously made up by some idiot looking for attention. To be perfectly honest, If we are to endure another lengthy, drawn-out saga that irks for months, then I think I’d sooner start reporting teddy bears’ picnics to you. I know Big Ted is a fan of finger sandwiches and mini pork pies.

When the subject of Robin and his contract comes up, I have a simple way of looking at it; if he doesn’t sign, then sell him. It may seem an extreme opinion, but I was the same with Fabregas. If he isn’t committed to the cause, then he can’t stay, and certainly not as the captain of the team. I’d love him to make public his desire to win trophies at Arsenal instead of anywhere else, and sign on for another 4 years, I really would. However, there isn’t any sense in worrying. If he goes, we’ll survive.

In transfer news, a few reliable folks out there report that Arsenal have had a bid in the region of £13m accepted by Dortmund for Shinji Kagawa. Unfortunately, so have Man United. The decision rests solely with the player now, and whilst I do hold a modicum of hope, I would assume he’ll be off to Manchester. No one can truly know where his preference lies, but most of the chatter about the web points towards that being the most likely of outcomes.

It’s a relatively slow day, Arsenal news-wise. There is plenty of other news grabbing the headlines in the form of England’s Euro squad. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlian is in the 23 players, and I’m happy for him. I’m also a little surprised, but I don’t think the same mistakes made with Walcott’s first international selection will be made here. The experience will be valuable for The Ox, and I expect he’ll get a bit of game time.

Elsewhere, I was devastated to see ‘King’ Kenny get the sack… His superb work  fucking up Liverpool as a strong team commands respect, as does his keen eye for a bargain in the transfer market. Liverpool will probably go out and get someone good now and they won’t be as hilariously inept. A good, capable manager, not someone who stinks of whiskey, bitterness and despair. Good riddance to him, the utter mug. For the Suarez t-shirt debacle alone, he should have gone a while ago.

Lastly today, Jack had these words to say in response to Nasri’s comments:

“I don’t know what goes on in his head,” said the 20-year-old.

“Fair play to him, he has won a trophy but over the next couple of years that’s our goal and I can see Arsenal winning a trophy.

“Maybe he spoke too soon and we can rub it in his face next year.”

Wise words, Mr Wilshere. Wise words indeed. Let’s hope they come true.

I’ll return tomorrow.

As regards Van the Man I agree with you. Life at Arsenal continued when Henry left us, same Adebayor, same Bergkamp, same Wright, et al – all the way back to Joe Baker (60s) and Ted Drake (30s).
He’s just completed his first injury-free season in eight. Lucky What about this coming season. He’s had months to commit, so he’s not committed; that is, not 100%. Iexpect more from a club captain. He’s 28, and not getting any younger. I think it’s best to cash in for 30 million (hopefully) and buy wisely with that cash. He’s just one individual, and no individual is bigger than the club.
    Good post by the way.

If people want to see Arsenal strenghthen then it is a matter of holding RvP to his contract regardless of whether he re-signs or not. Yes I do agree that we really only want players who are comitted 100%, but in RvPs defence it appears to be a case of wanting to win things – when he sees Arsenal doing that next season he will re-sign (assuming he hasn’t already done so).

I would not against RVP wish to live Arsenal because he too want to win trophies wht he is saying is wenger to spend big to bring in qualities players to chanllenge for trophies why wenger dont want to spend? is the question we should who dont want to win trophies? so wenger shold make move for qualities players and stop buying bushits like chamakh, gervinho pack bring del pirlo, M’villa, shiji kagawa, vertoghen then rest if Arsenal will not win triple trphies

R.V.P i respect u a lot but all arsenal fans must realise the fact that if our stingy and sorry to say stupid coach does not buy quality players, i will personally advice him to leave team. Its 7 years now, no trophy, nothing to show to for. FANS OF ARSENAL, r.v.p decisions depends on arsene wenger and the board.

If we miss out on Kagawa, how about we go for Dempsey? If Robin does go, we should get another CF as good in the region of Poldi’s abilities. Players will go, Arsenal will remain eternal.

Will a 130k A week guarantee and injury free season? This was His first full Season, I hope it wouldn’t be the last…Players don’t win Title…Team Does. Arsenal should biuld A TEAM and not Big Players…

No matter how good messi and ronado Are without a good team they would have still be unsuccessful.

rvp should learn from alexander creb, this is the first season he has gone injury free, arsenal kept him inspite of his injuries and now that he has scored 37 goals he thinks he can hold the club @ ransom, let him go if he wants after all we never know if he can reproduce the same next year,we make players and if he goes we ll still make the best out of the rest.if a player is not committed then he is not worth a captain.

The cost or Price tag of a player does not determine how much the player would perform…Its all but a gamble….costly players can’t guarantee success but a good TEAM Can

i remember lots of players going, Arsenal will always be there, I read some stupid blog the other day and there are actually idiots who take pride in calling themselves gloomers. Ups and downs are part of the game and we are all allowed an opinion but to boo your own team is less than human, it’s nothern.
