News, news, news. Where for art thou news?

Saturday morning greetings to you, dedicated reader.

Today, looking around for tidbits of entertainment, it’s very much a case of what could have been. If we’d have beaten Sunderland in the FA Cup, we’d be playing Everton this weekend. If we’d hadn’t decided to travel to Milan in a generous and lackadaisical mood, the quarter-final draw for the Champion’s League would have seen us pitting our wits against – you’ve guessed it – Barcelona and a certain Mr C. Fabregas.

Part of me is disappointed as both of the defeats in question where unavoidable and down to simply not performing. Dwelling on the past isn’t of any use to anyone, of course, so I cast the ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ out of my mind a focus on what’s important: Arsenal news.

Unfortunately, such a thing is conspicuous by its absence, so I’m at a loss to post anything substantial. Sure, there is a story running on CaughtOffside about Podolski maybe joining Lazio, but I’m sure you all know better than to pay the slightest bit of attention to those wretched peddlers of unsubstantiated hokum. I’d post a link to the story in question, but I’ll spare you the incredibly irritating pop-up videos dotted across the feculent canvas.

In an interview with whomever is willing to listen to him drone on, Twitchy Redknapp has decided to have a pop at Szczsney following our keeper’s admission that seeing Spurs drop into the Europa League would be “fantastic”. After a few words of praise, the saggy-faced cheif of those no-marks from Tottenham said:

‚??He does come out with some stuff, doesn‚??t he? Having a go at Chelsea the other day and God knows what.

‚??Young guys like that should just concentrate on their football. He‚??s a fantastic goalie. He should just keep doing what he does. That‚??s what he should do.

‚??I don‚??t like it. I don’t think there is any need for it

I don’t think there’s any need for you to concern yourself with the actions of Arsenal players, Redknapp. Besides, Szczsney isn’t actually wrong; it would be fucking marvellous to see Spurs and their half-witted fans slump out of the top 4 with their tails between their legs and their “mind the gap” t-shirts soaked with the tears of dismay.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s the very least they deserve.

That’s me done for today, folks. I hope that you’ve all got wonderful weekends planned – I’m stuck working some 25+ hours today and tomorrow. Thanks for reading, you beautiful bastards. Take a moment to comment with your views and follow my Titter account – @_ArmchairGooner
