Podolski and M’Vila in. More transfers are on the way.

2 posts in a day. You jammy rascals…

Afternoon, folks.

There’s quite a lot going on out there in the world of Arsenal. Today, the highways and byways of the Goonerverse are enjoying hearty amounts of traffic. Most of that talk centres around gossipy transfer talk and excitement.

With Podolski definitely in, and Yann M’Vila an almost-there-but-not-quite “99% assured” capture, there are rumblings from the folks in the know that we are far from done with our business. The up-coming weeks and months could see a very different Arsenal in the transfer market than the parsimonious version to which we are accustomed.

So, for the sake of my personal interest, below is a Poll with a few of the names we’ve been linked with in recent weeks. Please take a moment to pop a vote down for the one you’d be the most happy to see unveiled on the clubs official website.

Thanks for reading again, you beautiful bastards. Take a moment to comment and follow my Twitter account @_ArmchairGooner

  1. Dempsey by a mile. Think about it. We need midfielders who are willing to track back and support the defense more than we need another center back.

On top of that, Dempsey has a proven track record in the EPL, and he can play striker if needed.

Yes we need to strengthen our defense, but not our center backs as much as our wings. We need a first rate left back and we need a solid backup for Sagna on the right.

If we can’t find a first rate left back, then having a midfielder like Dempsey who is very fit and has shown his willingness to support the defense is all the more important.

  2. I have heard Holtby and Matias Suarez are on their way also, both pre-contracted and should be with us either just before or just after the tours………..there might be a bit of problems with a work permit for Matias because he is currently trying to get it sorted but if worse happens he should probably join us next year or in Jan. Also dont forget the likes of Miyachi, Wilshere and Joel Campbell…especially Joel he is still very young and he is single handedly destroying teams at Lorient……….DEVESTATING striker, he destroy teams back lines and is deadly clinical!! Have you seen some of his strikes look them up…..its like OMFG!!

    1. yes i agree. i ve watched joel campbell played during the under 17 world cup in nigeria in 2009. we share the same hotel. i watched him in training n in matches n i fell in love. he is damn devastating, clinical n fearless. hell, i wished wenger could see him n sign him. i was very happy when arsenal signed him. watch out he is going to be the bomb for arsenal.

  3. All the pkayer you mentioned in the list we want them to the arsenal squat becouse there are good .and more to that let the manager buy two player in one posesion pls

  4. to be honest i feel we are ok defensively, we have 3 good center back and djourou who is decent, we would need a replacement if he leaves, plus we already have 2 players on the right (sagna, jenkinson) even though i beleive jenkinson is not ready yet, and 2 players on the left (gibbs and santos). as defensive midfielder, with m’vila’s arrival we are sorted, we have plenty of creative midfielders for now, rosicky have been awsome this season, same for arteta, wilshere will be back next season, and don’t forget diaby (who arsene wenger as a lot of faith in), plus ramsey who needs to improve in confidence.
on the wings we are now very strong with the arrival of podolski. with walcott gervinho podolski, the OX, miyiaichi, i think we are ready for next season.
i just feel we need another good striker, we probably have one of the best but he has not back up, chamack has not proven he is good enough, park has not played…so i beleive giroud would be a great pick for arsenal, but so would argue joel campbell could be what we are looking for, which could be possible.
Loic remy would be another great option in my opinion.
