Theo talks, Robin talks. ‘Inception’ your transfer rumours.

“Blah blah blah…”

Morning folks.

Just a quick one today.

This week it’s reported that ‘showdown’ talks will ensue. With some players already reporting for pre-season today, we’re at the point where action or resolution is needed. Theo and Robin are those main points. For me it’s really very simple; Robin has made his position untenable, and Theo has to make a choice.

Allowing proceedings to rumble on will be damaging. Offer Theo a contract. If he stalls, refuses and dithers – sell him. Don’t waste any time pleading or negotiating with Robin – set a price and offer him to the clubs abroad that want him. Tell him if he want’s to stay in the Premiership he can languish in the reserves for a year then go for free.

I’d really play hardball with the both of them. Arsenal is a great club. If neither desire to play here, then it’s “thank you” and “there’s the door”. Effort is far better placed into recruiting players to replace them that do wish to be here. And that’s about all there is to it as far as I’m concerned. Allowing any lengthy saga to continue into August is a repeat of the same mistakes we made last summer, and that will only work out badly.

Lastly today, and purely because it made me laugh, I wan’t to show you the ‘Inception Button

It’s the perfect way to add that little bit of tension to any situation. All you do is say aloud a rumour – “Arsenal have bid for so-and-so” and press the button. You’ll have instant homemade atmosphere and tension – give it a whirl!

Thanks for reading today, folks. The comments are below. What would you do with the contracts of Theo and Robin? Let me know.

I shall return tomorrow.

i quite agree with you…Arsenal should give them contracts and get them to either commit to stay or leaving and the earlier the better…so we can know what needs to be done and who needs to be replaced….

Again you have read my mind! If they do not want to stay, ship them off. Theo can go to Spurs for all I care as he would be a liability to them. As for Robin whether he stays or not I have lost a lot of respect for him. Is he still a legend? Absolutely NOT! He has tarnished his legacy by his ill-adviced outburst as far as I am concerned.

He was never a legend anyway. He had 7 seasons and had one good one and people say he’s a legend? No way! Look at Henry he’s a true legend.

Theo did not say anything about leaving the club, why r u guys forcing our players to leave, he didn’t renew his contract b/c no one offer him, i sometimes think its other clubs fans writing this, Theo is not a liability his rather an Asset for as he is z second top scorer and top goal assist for our club this past season.
I mean why do u want him to go, if he requires 100,000K per week then he deserve it, his showing progress in his skills, and his about to enter his maturity stage of his age where he can deliver his best performance and play world class football.
come on u guys don’t be emotional and force our star players to leave our great club Arsenal 4 life.

Of course i agree with the above comments, having said that,i do admire vanpersie alot,2011-12 season has been his season, bse he has been injury free
I expected hm to give us the asernal fans some royality, since asenal, the manager as well give him tyme, when he was 2-3yrs,down with injuries,However, irespect his decision,if he decides to leave, bse o may be his age, money, etc, the earlier the better, for wenger to concentrate on his current squad, and shipping in 5-6 players,
Bse i dont think that van persie is bigger than club,
    cheers Geof,

i agree with u, i believe Arsenal should stop pleading with some of these guyz who do not appreciate, Y should they always turn their backs on Arsenal after putting them on the light?. Nasri dissapointed us like that, Fabrigas did the same, to an extent of buying himself, can u imagine?, RVP was with Arsenal, even when he over suffered from injuries, Wenger still gave him the chance and never even thought of selling him, where things have reached, forget about the dime, bench him and let him go for free next summer. I do not when we shall get devoted players like Thiery, Wishere, Song and the rest, trophies are coming this season, beleive me or not, we will have them.

forgot one thing, Theo is one of my best players in Arsenal, just like some body commented, this guy has never asked to the club, there people from different clubs using this to fool us, but one thing i am sure of is that Theo can not even think of that, Go one Walcot, in Africa, Uganda especially, ladies call u MR. “Handsome”, hahahahahahaha

My sentiments entirely – When a player wants to wait until the end of the season it’s because they have another agenda. Problem with RVP was he wasn’t worth £130k this time last year so I do feel for the club. Now he is, he is playing Billy Big Bollocks – He needs to remember the fans love him for finally showing his true potential, being a great captain etc. However, it’s only one season, we want more and to come out in the press in the way he has is really disappointing and unprofessional.

Theo is a strange one – we all know his potential, never been consistent enough for my liking but you hope he will come good eventually – and I for one don’t want that to be in an opposition shirt – however, my understanding is his demands are pretty high in terms of a new contract so again the club need to make a final offer and set a deadline, otherwise we will spend all summer being played off by these bloody agents again.

for the past four years, before every season begin arsenal will find herself in a tight position before settling down. this is not a good thing for a big club like arsenal. like i always say if u want to stay on the top then do things like people on the top. then victory is yours final.

We won’t buy an equal quality replacement for RvP, we really should keep him and play him. If he wants to let his stock drop by playing poorly that’s on him and he may get put on the bench, but I imagine he would be forced to play his best hoping to get even more out of whoever would pick him up. We need that quality (and the morale boost of not losing our star, and the relief of pressure on our new strikers, and the change in perception of Arsenal being a selling team) more than we need the money to buy a “prospect” or two

for every radical change there is always a conflict. arsenal board need to pinpoint her faults and work on it especially when it comes to players welfare and ambitions. even if the delay tactic continue, eventual arsenal will have to adopt to the market or end up like some low rated clubs in the nearest future. in fact, why at this stage we should be negotiating with top players at the club on contracts? why not when they have two seasons left and why should arsenal wait for pre-season and get engulf in all this scandal when players minds need to be concentrated on the incoming season. then how can we win trophy without being focus and compose. arsenal must stand up to this.
