Where to start today? I could begin by trawling through the endless array of entertaining, informative stories and fill your minds with hope and wonder, but there aren’t any out there. Perhaps we could discuss the potential incomings to Arsenal? That’s kinda been done already, almost to the point of becoming tedious.
Wait. There is one story that’s interesting. Let’s go with that.
I don’t pretend to know all that much about Clement Grenier. As is often the case, my knowledge of the player is no greater than what I’ve heard, and a couple of YouTube videos I’ve watched.
He looks pretty handy, but I’m sure my footballing career wouldn’t look half bad if someone took the time to edit my highlights and put them to a rousing soundtrack. As a matter of fact, having now embedded that idea in my head, I’m quite disappointed such a thing hasn’t been done before. I can picture it now; my gangly frame haplessly plunging across the penalty area – I used to be a keeper – whilst a relatively harmless attempt on goal trickles embarrassingly over the line .
Seemingly destined to move on from Lyon in the summer, Grenier has spoken to the media regarding his destination, and dropped a slight hint at Arsenal being the place he opts to ply his trade. The young Frenchman said:
“I have more or less made a decision about which club I want to join,
“I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Arsenal? It could well be them.
“There would be competition for places, but you get that at all big clubs and it does not stop me making my decision.
“I am still young, but I have always set myself targets and I do everything possible to exceed them.”
Sounds very positive, without being in the least bit definitive. At 22-years-old, Grenier certainly has time on his side to develop into an excellent player, and from I’ve seen he already looks extremely talented midfielder. He recently won his first International cap, and coming over to Arsenal might be what he sees as an ideal career move given our mangers fondness for talent from his homeland.
Of all the transfer talk thus far, this one seems to me the most believable, and the most likely to come to fruition. As I always say, folks; time will tell. The summer has much in store for us, and at this early stage we are unlikely to see much materialise.
And that’s all for today. I’ve another day of high octane work ahead of me, and I’m looking forward to it about as much as I do visiting the dentist. I’ll leave you with my customary point toward the comments section, and ask the question; what do you think of Clement Grenier as a future Arsenal player? Do you know a bit about his exploits in the French league? Let me know.
As always; thanks for reading, you beautiful bastards.
