Arsenal Progress Despite Being Unwaveringly Cack.

Arsenal 1-2 Ostersunds (Agg 4-2)

Evening, folks.

This will be a quick post whilst I’ve got 5 minutes to myself. After the game finished last night, I was beat so I drifted blissfully off into a delicious sleep with minimal fuss. Alas, doing so meant that I didn’t have any time to rite this morning – I usually post the night before where I can. poor planning from yours truly. Unforgivable stuff…

Anyway, that’s enough rambling for today. The game. Yes, let’s talk about that and how wonderful it was.

Arsenal were terrible. I’m talking Michael Bay’s ‘Pain And Gain’ bad. Actually, no – Tim Burton’s gothic turd of a Batman movie bad. Nope, that still doesn’t do it justice. Think – Ed Sheeran’s interminable latest album. That bad (especially that really annoying one in which he bleats about meeting a girl from Ireland). Unfathomably sh*t-awful. Just f*cking dreadful from start to finish.

Credit to Ostersunds who came out onto the pitch without a care in the world and really gave it a shot. They certainly deserve credit, but it shouldn’t go unmentioned that Arsenal are the greatest enablers of modern football. I can understand complacency plays a part in things, but to a man the players came out onto the pitch and just sauntered about as if the job was done. Even when staring down a 2-0 deficit it took a stern kick in the backside at half time for even a slight improvement to surface. We made it easy for them to enjoy themselves.

Kolasinac made the score 1-2 after the break and effectively killed the tie, but we never looked like adding to that strike or making the scoreline respectable. Irrespective of the situation, to lose at home to a (with all due respect) Swedish 1st division team is poor.

We progressed to the last 16 and the less said about it, the better. However, some of the players need to have a seriously look at themselves. Arsenal frequently don’t turn up at all and it’s a worrying trend that has significantly worsened in recent years.

In the next round, we face AC Milan who will prove a far sterner test.

That’s all for today, folks. I’ll be back tomorrow to start previewing the Carabao Cup final and bring you other bits and bobs. The comments below await your thoughts ion the game.

Until we speak again, and as always; thanks for reading, you beautiful bastards.
